



SPEIER Swim Course for Adults
Julie is using the Red Cross Adult Swim Lesson Classes Skills and Practice checklist to teach the swimming component of this course. In addition to learning and practicing the swim skills it takes to be a fast, efficient swimmer, each practice will also teach and give you time to practice methods for improving your entire well-being the SPEIER way.

The SPEIER Adult Swim Course will enhance your swimming skills, build confidence in the water, and improve your overall aquatic proficiency. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your existing skills, our courses offer tailored instruction, engaging drills, and a supportive learning environment.
Course Overview
Our Adult Swim Course focuses on a range of skills and drills to cater to various skill levels. From basic water comfort to stroke refinement, our certified instructor will guide you through a structured program designed to meet your individual needs.
Key Skills and Drills:
1. Water Comfort and Buoyancy: Develop comfort in the water through floating and gentle movements.
2. Breath Control: Practice breath control and rhythmic breathing techniques for efficient swimming.
3. Basic Strokes: Learn fundamental strokes such as front crawl and backstroke with attention to body positioning and arm movements.
4. Advanced Strokes: Refine techniques for breaststroke and introduce the butterfly stroke.
5. Treading Water: Master treading water techniques for stability and survival skills.
6. Endurance Building: Increase stamina and swimming distances to improve overall fitness.
7. Diving Skills: Learn safe and controlled entry techniques, from basic dives to surface dives.
8. Water Safety Education: Acquire essential water safety knowledge and emergency response skills.
Class Schedule and Pricing
Courses are offered in 8 week sessions, our first session begins Monday, September 11th and runs through Wednesday, November 1st. You can attend once a week, either Mondays or Wednesdays for $80 for the session or attend twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays for $140. Please complete the online registration form and waiver here. At this time, due to access issues in Pelican Eyes we will leave from the park at 8:15am and drive up together in Julie’s Safari. Julie will transport you back to the park after practice at 9:30am.
